Registration

Your first welcome back to SJC! Stop by the Murphy Alumni Center in Xavier Hall to pick up your weekend packets with event tickets and housing keys, and have your questions answered!

Thursday, August 1: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Friday, August 2: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, August 3: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Housing

Housing will be available on campus from Thursday to Sunday. The cost is $35 per person, per night, including breakfast the following morning, and reservations can be made as part of your weekend registration.


Thursday August 1st

Alumni Night in the Old Port

4:15p.m.

Shuttle will leave campus from Xavier Hall parking lot

Join in the fun by taking the shuttle for a night out at the happy hour and cruise, or just to see the Old Port! Reservations required as space is limited.

Happy Hour Reception at Ri Ra Irish Pub & Restaurant

5:00 to 6:00p.m,

Join us at Ri Ra for a reception before departing on the Welcome back Cruise.  Cash bar and appetizers provided, event is 21+ (please bring I.D.).

Welcome Back Cruise – Casablanca Cruise on Casco Bay

6:30 to 9:00p.m.

16 Custom House Wharf, Portland, ME

Sponsored by the SJC Alumni Association

Cash Bar and light fare will be available, $15 per person. Event proceeds benefit the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

Be ready to board boat by 6:30pm. This event is 21+ so please have your I.D. ready at boarding. Entertainment will be provided by the Time Pilots, a local ’80s cover band.   

Shuttles Back to Campus

First Shuttle: 9:30p.m.

Second Shuttle: 1:15a.m.

Shuttles will pick up in front of Ri Ra Restaurant.  Reservations by pick up time required as seats are limited.

Under the Stars on Campus

Student Lounge and Alfond Center Patio

Come join your classmates and friends to enjoy the beautiful night sky over the lake. This event will have a free s ’mores station next to the camp fire, event is BYOB.

Friday, August 2nd

Continental Breakfast

8:00 to 10:00a.m.

Breakfast will be setup in common area of your residence hall.

Join us for a continental breakfast to kick off a fun day of events both on and off campus. The price of breakfast is included in the reservation fee of $35 per person, per night.

Indoor Fitness Session

9:00 to 10:00a.m.

Prefer to get your fitness done inside? Join us for a morning fitness session in the dance room…

Morning Run/ Walk

9:00 to 10:00a.m.

Meet in the student lounge, Alfond Center

Or perhaps you would rather do some outdoor training? Meet us in the student lounge and then participate in a cross country run or walk through the beautiful terrains on campus.

Daytime Shuttle to the Old Port

9:30a.m.

Meet in the Xavier parking lot.  Reservations required as space is limited, shuttle will return at 4:00p.m. from designated stop in Portland.

Kayak on Sebago Lake

9:30a.m. to 12:00p.m.

Beach

Cost is $20 per person and is limited to those 18 years of age and older.

See Sebago Lake from a whole new perspective with a guided kayak tour of Sebago Lake.  Includes approx. 30 minutes of instruction and 2 hours on the water (no experience needed).  The fee supports the development of the Outdoor Program in the College’s Student Activities Office.  All equipment for the trip is provided by Student Activities.  Expect to get wet during the tour, and bring your own water bottle.  Session is weather dependent.  Maximum of 8 spots- so sign up early!  

Lunch

Lunch on Friday will be on  our own. We encourage you to take advantage of the shuttles to Portland during the day or to check out the weekend's alumni discount at Pat's Pizza in Windham: 10% off your order if you mention that you are an alum attending Alumni Weekend at Saint Joseph's.

Maine Brewery Tour

10:45a.m. to 3:45p.m.

Maine Beer Tours will lead a tour of multiple local breweries throughout Portland.  Visit breweries including Shipyard and Sebago, just to name a few.  Spots are limited so register early. Group meets in front of The Portland Lobster Company on Commercial Street at 10:45. Fee for whole tour is $25 per person ticket and SJC will have a shuttle available from campus and to return to campus. Remember to bring your ID for the tour!

*Shuttle reservations must be made separately. Please sign up for the 9:30am shuttle to Portland and back to campus.

Pig Roast

5:30 to 7:30p.m.

SJC's Beach

$10 per person

Join us for a delicious pig roast on the beach with a beautiful view of the sunset on Sebago Lake. Prepare yourself for Island Night (that evening in The Chalet) as you dine on a beautifully smoked pig.  BYOB.

Kid’s Night Movie PJ Party!

8:00 to 10:00p.m.

Campus Movie Theater (AKA classroom on second floor, Alfond Center)

Children are invited to show up in pajamas with a pillow and a sleeping bag as they enjoy a movie on the big screen. Popcorn and water will be provided. Event will have student supervisors. Reservations must be made in advance in order to appropriately staff the event.

Alumni Night of Networking

8:00 to 10:00p.m.

Student Lounge & Patio, Alfond Center

Mingle and network with fellow alums as you enjoy the beauty of the view that Saint Joseph’s College provides of Sebago Lake.  Light fare and cash bar will be available (please have ID ready). Bring a business card to enter to win some great door prizes.

5K Cross-Country Run/ Walk

Jog, run or walk at your own pace through the beautiful scenery of the College’s state-of-the-art cross country course.

Admissions/Alumni Representative Program Info Session

9:00 to 11:00a.m.

Alfond Hall, Room 215

Volunteers will meet with Admission’s Office Representatives to discuss the Admission’s Department new Alumni Representative Program.  Learn about volunteering as an alumni representative of Saint Joseph’s College and our admissions department at college fairs that take place where you live. At this meeting you will learn more about the College’s admissions department and referral program, and details about this exciting new program. After the presentation volunteers will be invited to work on a small landscaping project outside of Healy Chapel to brighten up the campus!

Hear from the Alumni Council on the work has been done, and the achievements it has accomplished over the past year.  Bring your ideas to share with the council members and find out more ways that you can help grow the Alumni Associations in the future!!!

Sisters of Mercy Tea

The Sisters of Mercy are the foundation of Saint Joseph’s College and have seen generations of graduates succeed.  Join them for a cup of tea and lively conversation about the part, present, and future.

BBQ, Band, and Big Fun

Walton Street Induction Ceremony & Luncheon

The Walton Street Society recognizes and honors alumni celebrating 50 years or more of dedication to Saint Joseph’s.  We invite all Walton Street Society members to attend and honor members of the class of 1963 as they are inducted into the Society.

Beer, Wine, & Cheese Tastings Student Lounge

Join us and taste some local offerings of wine, beer, and cheese.  Cellardoor Winery, Y-knot Brewing, Maine Cheese Company will be present to offer you samples to enjoy as you spend time with your friends. Please bring your ID.

Open Swim and Rock Wall Climb

The pool and rock wall are open for alumni and guests. 

Please Note:  Though we have a lifeguard on duty at the pool, children must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian.  Locker rooms are available for use.

Softball Game

2:30 to 3:30p.m.

Richard W. Bailey Softball Field and Larry Mahaney Diamond

Join us for an Alumni Softball game as the even years challenge the odd years in a game of softball.  We recommend bringing your own glove, but we will have extra gloves available.

Alumni Awards Presentation & Lobster Bake

5:00 to 10:00p.m.

Tent in front of Xavier Hall

Rain Location: Mercy Dining Hall

$25 per lobster dinner, $20 per person for chicken or vegetarian options

The 2nd Annual Alumni Association Awards presentation will be followed by the annual lobster bake.  Entertainment will be provided by The Crab Shack Band.  Seating will be by class/era. 

One drink ticket is included for each dinner. (Please bring your ID.)

Kid’s Night & Child Care

5:00 to 10:00p.m.

Alumni Lounge

$5 per child, reservations required.

We've brought Party Palooga back to campus for another evening of fun with balloon animals and face painting! The kids will have their own party inside with student supervisors to include dinner and lots of fun.  Child care reservations must be made in advance so the event can be appropriately staffed.

Back-to-the-Chalet Party

Come down to the Chalet to reminisce over the great times you had here at SJC while enjoying some late night games and munchies! Entertainment will be provided by DJ Dan.  BYOB.

Come join us in Healy Chapel for a Sunday Mass presided over by Father John McHugh, OFM.

Alumni Discount

Pat's Pizza in Windham will be offering a 10% discount for alumni attending Alumni Weekend. To receive the discount, please alert your server that you are an alumnus/ alumna of Saint Joseph's College and are attending Alumni Weekend.
